
Generator Set Standards
The equipment meets the following standards: BS5000, ISO 8528, ISO 3046, IEC 60034, NEMA MG-1.22.
Warranty
6.8 – 750 kVA electric power generation products in prime applications the warranty period is 12 months from date of start-up, unlimited hours (8760). For standby applications the warranty period is 24 months from date of start-up, limited to 500 hours per year.
730 – 2500 kVA electric power generation products in prime applications the warranty period is 12 months from date of start-up, unlimited hours (8760 hours) or 24 months from date of start-up, limited to 6000 hours. For standby applications the warranty period is 36 months from date of start-up, limited to 500 hours per year.
Generator Maintenance
For FG Wilson generator sets service intervals are typically every 500 hours for minor services and major services are at every 1000 hours. But there are routine checks that you should carry out to keep your generator running at it’s best when you need it.

Daily or at Each Startup (weekly for Standby)
Perform a walk around inspection• Check fastenings, fixings and connections
• Check the condition and tension of fan belts and engine alternator belts
• Check fan and exhaust guards
• Check all filler caps
• Check for leaks – coolant, oil and fuel
• Check all pipes
• Check fuel, oil and coolant levels
• Check all hoses and connections
• Check battery terminals and electrolyte level
• Check control panel

Additional checks for Standby generators which have not been run
Every Two WeeksPerform an operational check by starting and running it for 5 minutes
Every Month
• Perform an operational check by starting and running it for 1 to 2 hours on 50% load
• Drain the water and sediment from fuel tank
• Drain dual wall tank bund area - if applicable
